ENTERPRISE CONTAINER PLATFORM

Key features

Innovating the customer experience while keeping existing legacy systems in place

Our BFF solution is a cloud-native, scalable and secure middleware that decouples the front end from core banking. Already live in projects such as buddy UniCredit and Volksbank, it is designed to let businesses innovate at the front without touching the core. More broadly, it is a cross-industry enabler of innovation: the architecture suits any company that wants to evolve its business while keeping its core logic and services intact.

Flexibility and faster time to market are built into our solution

01

Microservices Architecture

Legacy systems stay separate from front ends. Open standards and automated processes expose services through independent APIs.

02

Security and Testing

OAuth 2.0 protects critical resources and keeps APIs safe from unauthorized access, reducing risk.

03

Data Exchange

API connectors pull structured metadata straight from the core and automatically generate standard Java APIs, ready for any use.

04

One Gateway for Third Parties

Data from multiple systems, legacy or on-premise, is integrated and served through a single entry point to web and mobile apps, REST APIs or SOA web services.

05

Log Management and Analysis

A complete toolset collects microservice logs, analyzes them and manages API configuration.

06

Flexible Deployment

Once built, an API can be reused anywhere and adapts to any service or digital channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is middleware an alternative to replacing the core, or a step toward it?

It can be both. For institutions that want to extend their core rather than replace it, middleware bridges legacy technology and new applications, at lower cost and risk and with minimal changes to the core. At the same time, every application connected through the middleware reduces the bank’s dependence on its existing core. When the day comes to replace it, the new core simply plugs into the middleware, with no need to reconnect each application.

Where do we start, and how soon will we see results?

There’s no need to begin with a full transformation. A sensible approach is to pick the most important customer or operational journeys and build a reusable layer of connectivity and data. An integration is built once in the middleware and reused across multiple use cases. As for timing, modernizing a bank’s entire infrastructure takes decades, but a middleware approach allows gradual modernization that can deliver benefits within months.

How does a middleware architecture like yours fit with PSD2 and DORA?

Our architecture is designed to support PSD2 and DORA compliance. The API layer between front end and core securely exposes the dedicated interfaces that PSD2 requires for authorized third-party providers, while allowing their availability and performance to be monitored. On the DORA side, the solution helps manage ICT risk, track incidents and run resilience tests.
